OGUN COMMAND HAS BEEN COMMENDED FOR IMPRESSIVE ANTI-SMUGGLING OPERATIONS AND VISIONARY LEADERSHIP OF ITS AREA CONTROLLER, RASHID TAIWO
Comptroller-General of Customs Jacob Gyang Buba gave this commendation at Idiroko Border during the official commissioning of the new Customs Clinic and the Computer literacy centre of Customs Primary School, Idiroko.
The Comptroller-General, who was represented at the commissioning by the Deputy Comptroller-General in charge of Corporate Service and Economic Relations, Abubakar Malam, stated that the new medical facility is aimed at boosting the morale of officers and men of the command who are often faced with life-threatening and fatal injuries suffered in the hands of dare-devil smugglers.
He announced the donation of an Ambulance Van and large quantities of Drugs to the Clinic. A frontline Customs Agents, and Chief Executive Officer of Socopao Ventures, Chief Akeem Adigun also announced the donation of a 25-KVA generator for the clinic.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Customs Area Controller, Rasheed Taiwo said the clinic will take-off immediately has facility for out-patient, anti-natal, maternity, family planning and counseling services. He called on Customs Management to deploy adequate and qualified medical personnel to run the clinic. Guests were later conducted round the facilities in the clinic, while the representative of the Comptroller-General was registered as the first patient of the clinic.
